TERRORISM A THREAT TO MANKIND - CONDEMNED AT WORLD G-20 SUMMIT

The world summit at G 20 , the group of Twenty , is an international forum made up of world's 20 leading economies  & most industrialized nations. It  includes the developing nations as well , including China, Brazil, India and Russia i.e. member countries of BRICS.  The success of this G20 meeting are not very much visible but are powerful drivers of the world economy. 

The G 20 meetings has become a media event where  political posturing of the leaders is more prominent to showcase their economies.  No concrete plan has ever  come out of it, each country will continue to fuss about their own problems  and each will try to blame others individually  for their problems. But  USA remains at the focus for all .

It is a summit  where all important world leaders are available for lobbying at least for self interest .It also helps to remove  earlier misunderstanding between two countries . Important bilateral issues also get discussed on the back drop of this summit

Indian took this opportunity to highlight world Terrorism and said  global response to terror is very weak and urged the world leaders to make concrete efforts against those providing all sort of help & safe-havens to terrorists.

India presented a 10-point agenda to fight terrorism at the summit of the powerful G20 nations  and said , the international response to deal with the menace has been very decisive and it  needs "concrete efforts" not just lip service .

It was highlighted that some  nations are using terrorism to achieve their ulterior political gains.  Such countries, who  support terrorism, must be banned from the G 20 Summit as well .It's high time that for fast adoption of  Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism and effective implementation of UNSC  resolutions is required .  

Pakistan based LeT and JeM terrorist groups are just other side of the coin of ISIS and Al-Qaeda .Their names may be different but ideologies are  same. India  presented  a 10-point agenda to fight the menace of global terrorism .

1. List of terrorists must be exchanged between G20 countries.

2. Legal processes like extradition must be simplified and expedited to bring the terrorists to justice.

3. Fast adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism.

4. Effective implementation of UNSC resolutions and other international processes.

5. Exchange of best practises and collective efforts in G20 towards de-radicalization programmes.

6. Closure of various sources of terror funding by exercising international law.

7. Just like the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a Weapons and Explosive Action Task Force (WEATF) be formed to close the supply of weapons to terrorists.

8. Concrete efforts among G20 nations on Cyber security against terrorist activities.

9. Formation of national security advisors (NSAs) on Counter Terrorism mechanism in G20.

10. Countries which support terrorism must be banned from G-20 Summit.

Mentioning  Pakistan-based terror groups like LeT and JeM with ISIS  and al-Qaeda  . India  today made a strong pitch for global ‘deterrent’ action against countries that support terrorism for their political goals.It is important to deter countries that supports  terrorism and  closure of terror funding sources by exercising the international law. De-radicalization programmes will put the efforts in good direction.

Like  Financial Action  a Task Force for Weapons and Explosive control need to  be formed at international level  to close the source of weapons to terrorists .Internationally nations are less networked link  in dealing with the menace while the terrorists are better networked . Concrete cooperation among the G-20 countries with focus on cyber security is required .Also exchange of national lists of suspected terrorists at joint forum is required  against such terrorists and their supporters . Legal recourses like extradition for effective action against terrorists need to be expedited.

India , the most affected nation like Israel took up the stand and presented the issue of Terrorism very boldly in front of world leaders and asked to wake up before it's too late like Syria or Iraq.

Only hand shake & lip service will not do any good . We will have to fight together .

TRUMP PUTIN FIRST MEETING & LIKELY RESET OF POLICIES

To day's overall situation in the world is very alarming , probably in transition phase. A new world order is emerging and a new set of Equilibrium is required i.e.Balance Of Power.  Balance of power between two or more groups , is , practically a state of equilibrium  between the competing forces.

Now all eyes are set on Trump-Putin dynamics as they meet for first time at the back drop of  G 20 summit at Hamburg , Germany .

Donald Trump has given enough indications & said he wants to find ways to work with Vladimir Putin.The US President   is definitely different from others linearly and laterally also .He wanted to do drastic changes in the policies & in Administration for the benefits of mankind of USA & for the whole world. His postures , features, gestures, are really uniquely unique.Since it is USA , it matters to whole world as well.

US President Donald  Mr.Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are ready to grab this situation , for the first time in person meeting on Friday .This promises to be the most highly anticipated meeting on the eve of the G20 summit.Trump  said he wants to work with Mr.Putin  .But recent differences made this  goal made even more difficult on issues over Russia`s actions in Syria ,Ukraine, and alleged Moscow meddled in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Every facial expression and body language will be analysed as much as any words the two leaders utter as the world tries to understand how well Trump gets along with Putin a hard core far sighted politician .Kremlin would definitely like to see more than a U.S. postures and not just  walk away saying that he has wonderful meeting with Mr.Putin . Kremlin and team always look for the advantage.

Several hot issues like meddling in US poll , Ukraine , NATO advances  to Russian Boarder , Trade sanctions ,Arms control are pending for settlement.

Though Moscow has already denied any interference and Mr.Trump too said his campaign did not collude with Russia .It was probably other people and/or countries, and I see nothing wrong with that statement. Nobody really knows. Nobody really knows for sure,Trump said at a news conference, before slamming Democratic former President Barack Obama for not doing more to stop hacking.

Former US Presidents too had good relations with Mr. Putin .Earlier Mr. Bush found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy leader . Mr. Bush said in 2001,  I was able to get a sense of his soul . Mr. Bush took Putin was a true ally – especially after 9/11. He also hosted Putin on his Texas ranch and  in Maine. 

This may be a great start for American foreign policy . US president preparations for this meeting  will be simple and straight forward, shall seek short-term U.S. objectives without seeking any big breakthroughs. 

Trump earlier gave encouraging remarks like : Well, I have no relationship with him other than he called me a genius, Mr. Trump said last February in South Carolina.  Maybe we'll have a good relationship. Maybe we'll have a horrible relationship," Mr. Trump said last October . World politics may take a new turn after this meeting.

Whole world is hopeful.

G 20 SUMMIT & LIKELY BILATERAL ISSUES

The G 20 , group of Twenty is an international forum made up of world's 20 leading economies.It is  made up of 19 countries & EU .It was formed in 1999 to give developing countries a more powerful voice in forming  global economy. The G 20 includes the developing nations as well , including China, Brazil, India and Russia i.e. member countries of BRICS.  BRICS countries represent two-thirds of the world's people, and large share world economy. The success of this G20 meeting are not very much visible but are powerful drivers of the world economy. 

The G 20 meetings are nothing more than a media event and political posturing of the leaders to showcase their economies.  No concrete plan will come out of it, each country will continue to fuss about their own problems, and each will try to blame others individually  for their problems.  Of Course USA will be at focus for all .

Basically it is a summit  where all important world leaders are available for lobbying at least for self interest .It helps to remove some earlier misunderstanding. Important bilateral issues also get discussed on the back drop of this summit

The likely important international issues will be North Korea ,South China Sea ,Syria , Terrorism , Climate agreement e.t.c. Focus will be also on likely first meeting between Trump & Putin. 

One of the important bilateral meet may be held between India and China regarding de-escalation of tension in Indo China Boarder. Indian PM Modi, & Chinese President Xi Jinping likely to meet on sidelines of G20 Summit or in BRICS  get-together in Hamburg

As the standoff between Indian and Chinese troops on the India-China-Bhutan tri-junction continues in the Sikkim sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping may meet when leaders of the BRICS nations hold a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Hamburg on July 7, 2017 ,as this meeting will be chaired by Xi  as rotating chairperson.

In the prevailing India China tension ,China had accused India of illegal entry by Indian troops into ‘Chinese territory’ and demanded their immediate withdrawal. Seeing Chinese troops, personnels of a Bhutan Army camp called for help and  confronted the Chinese and told them that they cannot unilaterally change the existing status quo in the tri-junction. Indian Army personnel, who were present in the  area in Doka La in Sikkim on the other side, too rushed to the spot to help the Bhutanese soldiers. However, by that time the PLA had pushed back the Bhutanese and then came to a face-to-face situation with the Indian Army personnel.

The Indian soldiers too made it clear to the Chinese soldiers that they had no business changing the existing unilateral status quo in the tri-junction. There is no Chinese territory between India's border in the Sikkim sector with Bhutan.

India and China had in 2012 reached an agreement that the tri-junction boundary points between India, China and third countries will be finalised in consultation with the concerned countries. Bhutan too has written agreements with China of 1988 and 1998 stating that the two sides agreed to maintain peace and tranquility in their border areas pending a final settlement on the boundary question, and to maintain status quo as before March 1959.

Following the June 16 incident, Bhutan officially lodged a protest at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi on June 20. Beijing and Thimphu do not share diplomatic ties. The matter also came up for discussion at a border personnel meeting  between India and China at Nathu La in Sikkim on June 20. Bhutanese govt. issued a press release which stated Bhutan has conveyed to the Chinese side, both on the ground and through the diplomatic channel, that the construction of the road inside Bhutanese territory was in direct violation of the agreements and affects the process of demarcating the boundary between the two countries.

Bhutan said that the status quo in the Doklam area will be maintained as before June 16 at any cost.

Though the June 16 incident is being seen as forcing India's hand to change the status quo in the tri-junction, it is understood that New Delhi has been approaching the matter in a reserved manner so that Bhutan does not come under pressure despite the fact that the road being constructed near Indian defence lines posed serious security threat .

The Indian External Affairs Ministry in a statement said that India has taken up the matter with China at the diplomatic level both in New Delhi and Beijing. G 20 may help in breaking the ice .G 20 summit helped to resolve many such bilateral issues in the pst. It is in the interest of mankind that bilateral or multilateral issues are resolved peacefully and quickly.

BALANCE OF POWER UNDER RESET - NEW WORLD ORDER TAKING SHAPE

To days world is increasingly marked by regionalisms , instability and Terrorists threats, pollution  , drug menaces that risk humane way of life and  values.One tries to impose their set of rules on others .Only after  the end of  WW II the concept of world order and cold war comes in to existence, created by US & then USSR to maintain their monopoly , But this has got  no relevance in to days world  , because the  situation has changed totally &  become more & more complicated and confusing .

In earlier world order or cold war situation ,  issues like nuclear security happens to be of  utmost concerns , where  a group happens to lead their satellite countries . In today's  world no country want to be a satellite country  of others  irrespective of how small & weak it is . So the earlier concept of world order / cold war has become obsolete in to days scenario  .

To days new world order is taking shape slowly and the new  type of cold war is on between US , Russia , China where all  fights are there without hot war but only cold war  . The new strategy of cold war now is  arranging coup , triggering civil war , selective  assassination and abetting terrorism , destabilization  , control over natural resources , control over trade , sea routes and natural resources .

Now terrorism and Terrorists are being used as a catalyst to create disturbances in selected areas for some narrow gains . If a group or organization is labelled as Terrorist in a country , gets freedom fighters or hero's status in another country . Example Syria , Pakistan .This is causing instability in the world which give rise to a situation like cold war / new world order . ,The world is passing through a period of great uncertainties. The world's landscape has further  changed after  new President took office in USA.

Balance Of Power- Is a balance of power between two or more groups , is practically a state of equilibrium  between two major forces. In international relations, it refers to holdings balance among countries or alliances to prevent any one group from becoming too strong enough to force , enforce it's wishes upon the other group to take undue advantages , gains ,favour  and dominate as well as impose its will . 

World order , in fact , is dynamic in nature &  keeps  changing with time .All world orders in the past have different patterns which were suitable at that time . In today's scenario , it is all about  :

-Have more control & holds over natural resources ,  secured preferential   profitable Trade.        availability of  lower and cheaper raw materials so  to have low cost finished goods .

-Increase influence of power throughout the world.

-More military bases around the world!

-To control world's trade and navigational routes for secured of Trade .

-Shape and influence foreign policy of other Countries which suits them.

- To ensure an equilibrium of power between super powers .

-To lead the world from front.

-For better , preferential   , privileged  trade deal that improves trade between our two important countries, which ultimately bring  prosperity and growth  and ensure jobs  as well.

World order is an international system and  if it properly works it guides all power blocks to work in their area of influence and not to  influence ,encroach , pose threat , harm  other country or blocks or group of Countries of others group  I..e .w world order is a political gambit with agreed set of rules with deep understanding. Once agreed it can not be changed unilaterally . Whenever there were attempts to overshoot the defined limit, Power Balance get disturbed ,World order get shattered and destructive disorder spreads which leads to civil war and wars between Countries.

A New World Order is now visible in the horizon after new Administration took charge in US .As per indications the new US  President is going to  reset the all old policies irrespective of whether it is Health , Infrastructure , Cyber security , South China Sea , Missiles defence shields ,Naval presence , International Trade Agreements , Israel , Taiwan , Tibet . As of to day ,  US is leading the whole world ,  so any reset of their  Policy is bound to affect the whole Equilibrium of the world .

Glimpse of likely new world order & typical type of new cold war are:

1 ) Though ,  since second word war , US foreign policies were based upon to limit and control the influence and growth of Russia .But the new US  Administration indicates that a Foe can become Friend and friends have to be  friendly . The new Administration has further indicated that they could lift sanctions on Russia if Russia cooperates  and called NATO as  “obsolete.” Russia is  happy  as their  goal of their designed world order is in making as per their imagination I.e. Vladimir Putin's vision for Europe. US believes that the NATO alliance was put in place to check Russian influence in the wake of WWII, which has become“obsolete.”

2 ) Britain is not looking uncomfortable with this new US  stand and hope US will continue to lead the world  and not  abandon itsl   leadership role in the world which was in practice since last 60 years . Also suggest alliance with democratic countries like India .UK since coming out of EU  after BREXIT , wants to play a major role as a super power in world affairs  along with US  .Britain is very keen in making this new axis of US+UK a formidable front as it is in their national interest .In UK 's view countries with no tradition of democracy , liberty , human right  particularly China and Russia have become more assertive on world's affair like Syria , South China Sea, Tibet ,Taiwan which is  posing danger to democracy

3) Other likely axis could be Russia-China or  most surprising US --RUSSIA or US-UK- Japan-Korea - Australia-India  . Because of dynamism , world order  changes fast , as lot of permutations & combinations  available , which will  ultimately come to surface slowly .

The G 20 summit in Hamburg , Germany in July , 2017 may set the tune of all above new equations. Wait & Watch

TERRORISM AND INDIA - ISRAEL JOINT EFFORTS TO BEAT THIS MENACE

India has been a victim of terrorism for a very long period.There are many terrorists organisation that are flourishing across the Indian boarder with foreign funding and training   . Mostly they are Pakistan sponsored and are ready to spread unrest any time in any part of the country. They get all out support from their masters in Pakistan. No body can forget the 26/11 Mumbai attack in which more than 200 people had lost their lives. It is very unfortunate that now a days many countries are using terrorists as strategic tool  to disturb other countries.

Who are these terrorists and why do they resort to violence ? In fact  they  are the young men who are trapped by being brain washed by radicals with money and other means and  by misinterpreting the religion.

They are twisting the ideology by misinterpreting concept of religion. The brains of these young people are washed completely  in the name of jihad .They are told to kill the innocent peoples. They are also  being shown false dreams.Sometimes these young people are enticed by money, other times they are told that God would greet them for such heinous crimes and the whores would welcome them in heaven. Now ISIS has become a great threat for the whole world. It is mushrooming in Syria, Iraq and other Middle east countries.

Their minds are filled with venom which is evident from their brutal actions such as beheading the innocent people, massacre etc. In the latest terrorist attack in France around 90 people were killed. The terrorist used the truck to crush the people celebrating Bastille Day in the French city of Nice.  So these uncivilized people are using various methods in killing the innocent people. As per reports  ISIS is showing its presence  in India as well. But it is also true that Indian youths are very wise enough  & shall not become its easy prey.

To fight terrorism tooth & nail , India needs support of international community & a robust friend  .Israel probably  the one . ISRAEL always stood by India to fight terrorism in any form . India-Israel strong ties is going to  have great impact on terrorism & their sponsors .India  Israel  ties have seen rapid growth since the establishment of full diplomatic relations.But the turning point is , the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister to Israel .This has given a great boost to it and   setup an milestone in the path of eradication of terrorism . Indian PM Modi rightly said: We shall fight terrorism together to achieve Common objectives of economic prosperity and to secure our societies .

He said our main focus will be on making our ties even more stronger by using technology and innovation to meet our developmental  priorities and aspirations &  to expand our academic, scientific ,research, and business links also. Shall  put in place a robust security partnership to respond to shared threats to our peace, stability and prosperity, he stated. Indian and  Israeli Prime Minister has crafted and built a clear action agenda to realize  these objectives. 

Referring to people-to-people links between the two countries, Modi said that Jews have thrived in India for thousands of years after the first of these people landed on India's south-western coastline.

India and Israel are sister democracies, both face common challenge of Terrorism . It is a common challenge . Our first goal  is to defeat the forces of terror which is on rampage through out  the world and threaten many countries. We must stand together in this battle. We have to defeat terrorism.There is nothing like good terrorism or bad terrorism, your terrorists & our terrorists.Terrorism dont have any religion.

India and Israel shared a common bond of democracy, creativity, a deep respect for each other t and a boundless optimism for future .Israel has emerged as the most trusted ally of India and both countries have not only government to government contacts but also people to people contacts.

India has Pakistan as a neighbor who uses terrorism as strategic tool  , at the same time has Israel as r trusted friend and ally .Israel has always helped India at the time of crisis. On many occasions, it has provided crucial intelligence inputs to India. India and Israel today elevated their ties to the strategic partnership level, vowing to do more together to combat growing radicalization and terrorism while emphasizing  for strong action against those financing and providing sanctuaries to terror groups.

Be it the questions of war against terrorism or fight against the poverty or the struggle for technological progress, both countries are working hand in gloves and shoulder to shoulder. This is beneficial for both. Israel has technology and India has the market and technical man power . So, from the space to defence and agriculture to culture relations between these two nations are strengthening socially and sentimentally day by day.

With so much of commitments ,closeness and determination to work together  to fight terrorism , one can very well hope for better days .
