US - CHINA HEADING TOWARDS WAR LIKE SITUATION OVER SOUTH CHINA SEA

The 70 year old businessman and former reality television star , now  a new political star, was sworn as the 45th president of the United States, who promised  to put  America first. He said to Americans that this is your day , this is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country . The oath of office  is an oath of allegiance to all Americans. 

From this day forward, it's going to be only America first, Americans first, he asserted. Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our product  costly , stealing our companies and eating our jobs .

In a stern warning to China, the US has said it will definitely protect its interests in the disputed South China Sea and defend international territories from being taken over by one country .Because areas in the South China Sea that are part of international waters and international activities. US is going to make sure to  protect  US interests there . White House Press Secretary  told these to reporters , at his first news conference .

Its a question of , if those islands are in fact in international waters and not part of   China , then , we will  make sure that we defend international territories from being taken over by one country , said. the spokes- person . Earlier in a  recent statement made by Secretary Rex Tillerson that US would deny China access to these islands as they are in international waters.

China is nervous now .China in a strongly worded statement had warned US of a war if it is denied the access.China has warned the US to “speak and act cautiously after the White House said it would act to foil Chinese attempts to “take over” the South China Sea, amid growing hints that Donald Trump’s administration intends to challenge Beijing over the strategic waterway.

Beijing  foreign ministry spokesman, urged Washington to speak & act carefully to avoid harming the peace and stability of the South China Sea .The most consequential strategic confrontation on the planet has been building, not in Iraq and Syria, but in Southeast Asia where the U.S. and China are locked in a contest over the future of the South China Sea – and ultimately the whole of the region.

China’s  island-building activities are a key element in Chinese strategy. In the process, China has seized a number of atolls and semi-submerged reefs, and through massive dredging operations, it has created permanent sites for ports, airfields, and barracks.

President Xi baseless , China’s assertions of historical and legal possession of the South China Sea are entirely mythical and there is no substance .No littorals states  have neither the will power nor are economically  , financially & militarily strong to confront China . So , US move to check china as per international law would not be wrong , of course UN to be taken in to confidence .

China has no legal base  for ownership of the South China Sea under international law – a fact that was conclusively determined in the recent decision by the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Nevertheless, Beijing has continued to publicly insist on its claim – and has continued to act accordingly.

The situation is going to be very tense & serious if not defused early . Russia of course can play an important role towards this .
